Queen P back in CDO for Uniqlo

Miss Univere 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is the newest face of Uniqlo Philippines. As the clothing brand's ambassador, Pia graced the opening of their newest store in the queen's hometown, Cagayan De Oro, in SM CDO Downtown Premier.

Pia attended the event with Uniqlo PH executives for the ribbon cutting as store is officially open. After the ribbon cutting, a meet and greet with the Queen was held.

Of course, a lot of people flocked to the mall, knowing that they will see their queen and their kababayan. The people of Cagayan De Oro is indeed lucky to have Pia as one of their homegrown icons. It was a meaningful comeback for Pia because it was her first time to come back to CDO after being crowned as Miss Universe.

Maureen Wroblewitz is Asia's Next Top Model

Filipina-German Maureen Wroblewitz wins Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 5, besting out Shikin Gomez of Malaysia and Mihn Tu Nguyen of Vietnam. She is the first Filipina to win the said modelling competition.

On the finale episode, the top three finalists were photographed by Yu Tsai in an avant-garde "motherland" theme where they were able to embody the countries they represent. 

After the photoshoot, the finalists were reunited with the eliminated contestants and headed to the National Gallery Singapore for a final runway show showcasing renaissance-inspired gowns designed by Xiao Qing Zhang. 

The final panel of judges were comprised of host Cindy Bishop, photographer Yu Tsai, Nylon Singapor editor-in-chief Adele Chan, model agent Ruby Adler, and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.

Maureen was born and raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She moved to Germany at the age of 12 and started modelling when she moved to the Philippines when she was 18 years old. Throughout the competition, Maureen had been into the bottom two twice but she had 3 first call-outs (FCO) for best photo.

In the competition, she has been labeled as the girl who is the youngest, shortest, least experienced, and pretty with no skills. But now, that girl, Maureen Wroblewitz of the Philippines, is Asia's Next Top Model.

Venus Raj Graduates from UP

Major Major Congratulations!

We used to see her wearing the Philippines sash but this time, she's wearing a different but a very meaningful one - the Sablay! Miss Universe 2010 4th Runner-up Maria Venus Raj graduated from the University of the Philippines last June 25, 2017. After four years of dedication, hardwork, perseverance, and prayers, Venus finished her Master's Degree in Community Development program.

According to Venus, getting the sash, UP's Sablay, is harder than competing for the Miss Universe sash. But now that she successfully graduated, finishing a program that is really close to her heart gives her a different kind of joy and fulfillment.

She chose the Community Development program because it was something that is close to her heart. She also realized that it was also where she came from because she immersed herself and served a community similar to where she was raised and grew up (Bato, Camarines Sur) as a part of the activities associated to her chosen program.

She admitted that there were times that she felt like giving up already, just like what a normal university student would feel, but with God's grace and guidance in her journey, she was grateful that she was able to surpass it.

Venus has no plans to leave the showbiz industry because there are still a lot of opportunities but she is more than willing to apply her learning in graduate school when the need arises.

Mary Ann Mungcal is Miss Global Philippines 2017

Besting out other 21 lovely contestants, Cabalen beauty, Mary Ann Mungcal, was crowned as Miss Global Philippines 2017 last June 24, 2017 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila.

She was a clear winner because she won almost half of the special awards, especially the two major awards - Best in Swimsuit and Best in Long Gown.

Mary Ann hails from the town of Arayat in the province of Pampanga. She is a graduate of the University of Assumption with the bachelor's degree of Business Administration major in Marketing Management. She loves to do modelling jobs, join pageants, and travel.

Part of her duties and responsibilities is to promote the tourism in the Philippines. She is the official delegate of the Philippines to the Miss Global 2017 pageant on September.
